At the new Sharp Rees-Stealy Chula Vista Medical Center, Baker Electric is helping deliver the electrical infrastructure needed to support a modern healthcare environment built around reliability, efficiency, and long-term performance.

Healthcare facilities depend on power systems that perform without compromise. From patient care areas and medical technology to emergency systems and day-to-day operations, the electrical backbone of a medical center must be designed and installed with precision. At Sharp Rees-Stealy Chula Vista, Baker Electric’s scope includes full electrical systems, a solar PV installation, and backup generator systems that help support safe, efficient, and dependable facility operations.

A key feature of the project is the 150 kW DC carport solar system, built with Trina 600W modules and SMA inverters. This on-site renewable energy system adds long-term value by helping offset energy use while supporting the facility’s broader performance and efficiency goals. By integrating solar into the site infrastructure, the project reflects how healthcare facilities can pair operational resilience with practical energy solutions.

The project also includes backup generator systems designed to maintain power continuity for critical healthcare operations. In a medical setting, backup power is not simply a convenience; it is essential to patient safety, emergency preparedness, and the continuous operation of critical systems.

Delivering infrastructure in a healthcare environment requires careful coordination, technical planning, and disciplined field execution. Senior Project Manager Hunter Anderson and Foreman Taylor Gates led a project walkthrough, highlighting the electrical scope, solar installation, and backup power systems that contribute to the facility’s overall reliability.

As Chula Vista continues to grow, projects like this play an important role in expanding access to high-quality medical services. Baker Electric is proud to contribute the electrical expertise and field execution needed to support a facility built for performance, resilience, and the communities it serves.
