Baker understands the collaborative aspect of the pre-project planning approach. We also see this approach as an efficient and cost effective project delivery method.
During the design process, our team works closely with the other team members and will benefit from real time information concerning cost and constructability issues. Constructability input begins at the early design stage in order to drive the project program, cost, and schedule. Baker is responsible for understanding the requirements of the electrical project program, and ultimately reconciling the factors of meeting the project program, cost, and schedule.
Our approach to pre-construction services typically mirrors that of a general contractor. We have the greatest impact on a project at the earliest stages of design, where we can provide input on the electrical systems, materials selection, and costing. We look for better and more efficient ways to design and build, to ensure that the project is receiving the best solutions that adhere to the project goals and design characteristics at the most competitive price.
We also have full BIM capability to help the team and other trade partners make informed decisions while minimizing field clashes later on. In addition, we have on staff LEED certified professionals to assist with developing and incorporating sustainable design into a project.
